Hello Frank, Thank you so much for coming to Celebration II and sharing your talents with us! When I heard that there was going to be a Diorama workshop at CII I was super excited. Then I saw the photos on the web of the dioramas that were going to be there and I couldn't wait. I had no idea of how we were going to build Mos Eisley from scratch in three days. It turned out way cooler then I thought it was going to. I met some really awesome people, and learned some great ideas for building my own dioramas. I was very happy when my building was set next to the Cantina. It was a very inspirational weekend. Thanks again!

Frank, You did a wonderful job over the weekend and I'm glad I got the chance to say hi...even if it was only for a minute. As impressive as your work is on the internet, it is even more amazing in person. I really enjoyed watching how you inspired so many people to give the old foam core board a try. Very nice!

Celebration was a huge success in my book and you should certainly be proud of yourself too! I imagine it was a lot of work, but I can tell you that from a spectater point of view, you did very well! Thanks Frank!

My friends had never been to your website before , so I dragged them down the hall and we waited in line to see your work--they were genuinely impressed, and I think you made some new fans, and re-inspired an old one!
Your involvement in Celebration II must have been a tremendous honor and a great time, too. After seeing your work up close, it has inspired me to start a new project--WATTO'S SHOP

FANTASTIC !!!!! Absolutely a highlight of Celeb 2. To see the dioramas on the net is one thing , but to be able to see them in person ( 3 feet from them ) was just amazing. All the dioramas on display were true works of art.
Seeing the final Mos Eisley diorama completed on Sun. was breath taking ! I was in complete awe of this masterpiece. Words nor pics.can describe it. This was something you had to experience first hand. Hats off to Frank and everyone involved in the Dio. workshop. Thanks for being part of the SW community.........

Frank, It was great to meet you at the convention. I was very inspired by your workshop!!!! I have started making a cantina based on the lessons I learned there. I only have the bar and the center island started so far. I'm a bartender. Have to have my priorities straight :) I wish I had more time to stay Sunday. It was great.

The C2 diorama workshop I thought was one of the real high points of the convention. I loved getting in there and comparing notes with people, I think everyone learned something. Personally, Friday I dreaded questions from attending people. By sunday I could usually answer them. A lot of fun to see people just making something that had not been seen before.

The Sunday setup was a blast, especially the last 30 minutes or so, the adrenaline of trying to make everything look
"natural", Jamie looking up in panic asking for more of the Paint/Plaster combo for the cantina. Dodging spectators while holding soggy buildings in my hands. The look of confusion when we realized that we couldn't remember if docking
bay intruders were Sand or Stormtroopers. And 15 minutes later looking and seeing peoples jaws hit the floor when they saw the completed diorama.

Mos Eisley was really a great Idea too I can't think of anything else that has that much freedom for individuality and yet would look good when combined. If you decide to do this again at C3 count me in.

What a great time we had at Celebration II !! I was lucky enough to be there with my 7 year old son who was NOT
interested in meeting any actors or celebrities which meant we didn't have to wait in any of those awful lines!! He was more than happy to meet the man behind the dioramas! Ever since we found NiubNiub's site over a year ago, we've been inspired to make our own little Star Wars creations (of course nothing that would rival his!)

The great thing about the workshop room was that it was the only place in the entire convention hall where you didn't have to squeeze in and push to get around (that exhibit hall on Saturday afternoon was something else!). We really liked seeing the completed dioramas up close...they look so much better "in person". We only had enough time to work on some tables for the Cantina, (since we were leaving on Sunday morning) but just to be involved in the process was a treat!

One of the most pleasant surprises of the entire weekend was how nice everyone was! We met a whole lot of people
and were pretty jammed in at times, but I didn't hear one angry word or see any mean faces. I think everyone was just so happy to be there and "among their own kind". We both had a wonderful weekend!

A most amazing diorama. I had imagined it would be boring, but went to see it anyway, and was totally entranced. In fact, it totally delighted us.
There were so many dioramas to see, and all such excellent quality. I think pretty well all the art-forms were represented at this Celebration, and I was most impressed by the whole thing.

Thanks again for the opportunity of learning from the master at C2! :) It was really fun to participate in the diorama. I hope you're well rested now (well deserved too)...your room was quite a hit, I can hardly wait to see more pics!

The most amazing aspect of this project is that it was all completed in only 2 days! When I first saw the area being set up on Thursday night (and met Niubniub for the first time!), I knew that this was going to be a big event at Celebration II.

Most people were stopping by to see the dioramas on display, but when they saw that they could actually BUILD a diorama of their own, many were very eager to roll up their sleeves and jump in. And the results were nothing less than spectacular! No two buildings looked alike: some were single-story, some were two-story, and a few were even taller.

To make it even more realistic, several props were added to the streets, some
speeders, action figures, and even some of my own customs! You could almost hear the bustling of the city streets. The only sad thing is that it was only up for a mere three hours. GREAT JOB to everyone involved...I hope you
had fun! (So, niub, when are we gonna do it again???

Your diorama workshop was awesome. I wish I had had time to spend there - but I was trying to see lots of other things (thankfully, no autographs!) and I just didn't have time to spend several hours building stuff. But I did stop by 4 or 5 times over the course of the weekend to see the progress you were making.

You did a great job. You should be proud. Congratulations...

The diorama workshop was one of the best things at CII. I actually got to do some hands-on things.

My little sister was with me and she LOVED making her building. Everyone there was a great help (especially Lucie, she was with my sister a lot helping her paint and plaster). I never thought I would be able to make anything like that, and I just want to thank you so much. :D

Dear Frank, I would like to thank you for a great time my son David and I had all three days. I would have been happy just to talk to you and learn how to do some of the stuff that you do, buuutttt nnnnoooo you had to go and have
this workshop.

What was I to do, get autographs or make a home for some low life scoundrels? Those poor low life scoundrels. Well, my Son and I had a lot of fun and to see how easy it was to do, that made me sick. I could have been doing this for years! Now I'm working on my very first custom figure and I have almost all the stuff to start on my first diorama. I look at your pic.s and I start to tear up, David had so much fun and then he started to help new people that started to come in. I don't know how to say thanks for the way you made us feel for those three days.

Thanks to you and to those who helped us. You have given David and I one more thing that we can do together.
Thank you all.
