DESIGNING THE DEATH STAR

See what a perfectly rounded corner you get? Much easier then the foamcore bend technique.

Besides foamcore would be too thick.

Now the cardboard acts as a rounded wall from front to rear. Don't panic about the seems because they will be hidden with the Decals.

February 13, 2005

Now take the remaining cardboard rectangle. this will be the Floor of the Doorway.

February 13, 2005

Use a Gluestick (works better then hot glue for this part) and smother the base of the foamcore floor.

February 13, 2005

Now press the Doorway down onto the floor. The Gluestick allows you to wiggle the cardboard in place.

February 13, 2005

Once the floor is in place, you can stick the 2 remaining rectangles to the floor to create the rounded walls like you did for the ceiling.

February 13, 2005

Now here is where it comes to life. The Decals were made in photoshop with the DVD's as a reference. these must be my most accurate ever. I love them :)

February 13, 2005

First on the LEFT wall goes the Decals with the Control Box. You know, the one Luke blasts to pieces preventing the bridge to reach him and Leia in the swing accross scene.

February 13, 2005

The opposite side, the Right Wall has the complete row of Neon lights.

February 13, 2005

For the ceiling, more lights. make sure to align the edges to each wall to give the illusion of one giant Decal.
