attach each end without them jumping around all over

Since this tree is SO WIDE, it is pretty loose, so
stick your arm all the way into the tube... |

It will now be easier for you to press the masking
tape along the seam as your arm acts as a support. |

Now place some masking tape on one end. |

Slowly lower onto the other side of the tube making
sure you are alligned on the 1" marker line. |

Now put some tape on the other end. |

Whatever is left over, slowly fold into the tube. |
