SUNDAY MAY 27 2007 : DAY 05 - GENERAL PUBLIC

The interior of Ben's home was another 30th anniversary creation by Jamie Follis. Beautiful.

Another exhibit at the visitor diorama area was the ULTIMATE GROUP PROJECT. Since I was not bringing any of my own Dioramas for display this year, I needed to showcase the art of building sets for your figures using other fans skills. And having the space that these guys needed seemed to be the perfect way to spread the fun of making dioramas.

A close up of the city streets.

Birds eye view, so much to see, so VERY VERY COOL, I LOVE IT.

Look at all those figures :)

A little greenery outside the city walls, a very nice touch. This gives me an idea to maybe make Naboo battle the next Diorama Workshop :P

There was always a huge croud taking pictures around the project table which is the BEST way to promote the art of building dioramas. Setting up was a little stressfull on the wednesday since all of our display tables were missing. But in the end it worked out great and I am thrilled that I was able to share the visitor diorama space with these talented artists..

Great job guys. Visit their official site for all the details from concept to convention assembly.

Finaly we have my team of miracle workers :) Without these guys I would have been in DEEP DEEP Bantha POOP. Volounteering at the workshop to make things go smoothly for the builders is at times very stressfull and prevents you from attending all the other cool things going on in the other halls but I must say in all fairness (ok, maybe I'm a little biased LOL) There is NO OTHER area that is as much FUN !!! Even Anthony Daniels told us this year that the workshop was "The BEST part of the whole convention !!!"

It is indeed a great place where parents and kids can hang out together and build from scratch a piece of art that combined with everyones effort , creates a truly unique display that will make visitors smile and become a great memory for all the builders who participated in the workshop.

From Left to Right, J.C., his dad John, Scott, his son Victor, Jamie, Frank (that would be me :), Chris,(My number one right hand man) John, and Mark. Not pictured are Duke and Danielle (who were stuck in traffic at the time of the photo).

I must TRULY stand up and applaud all of them for being there for me, helping me everyway they could and most of all, for becoming good friends !!!. I TRULY hope we will all get together again in 2 years for CV.
