RATING

The trailer for this film really did nothing for me so I wasn't really into wanting to see it. My friends at work convinced me to come with them to the IMAX screening since Tim was a Visual Effects Supervisor on the film and was flying back to Australia the next day (having finished his last Fantastic Four shots) and it would be a great last get together. And I am glad I did :)

The show actually started before the movie for us when this girl in the row in front of us went and sat with her boyfriend in seats that had been already sat in but vacant while the guys went to get their popcorn. I seems the girl did not see their coats (after we saw her toss them to the next seat LOL) The guys came back and told her she was in their seats, she said "tough PooPoo" and then the manager came and argued with the girl for 10 minutes to go sit somewhere else. She was so stubborn, they ended up calling the police and escort her and her boyfriend out of the cinema. Some people are just SO SO stupid. Just MOVE to another seat people !!! Finaly, lights dim, the show starts...

The Begining of the film just did nothing for me. I just kept laughing to myself as Liam Neeson trained Bale the EXACT SAME as Qui Gon. All that was missing was his Jedi Robe. Even some of the dialogue was direct from star wars (was it done on purpose?) "You knew my father?...." LOL

I am not a big fan of kung foo type movies and maybe that's why I didn't really get into the first act of the movie. I know I will skip this when I watch the DVD. How come people who fight never sweat ? :P Even in Star Wars, there in Lava and no one is sweating LOL. However once Bruce returns to Gotham and puts the suit on... YES YES !!!! This movie kicks into HIGH GEAR.

Morgan Freeman, who I guess would be closest compared to Q in the Bond films, really delivers the best and funniest lines in the movie. I think his character was the best. The other cast is very good except for Katie Holmes, what is she? like 14 years old? The guy playing Scarecrow looked really weird, and when put the patatoe sack on his head looked just like Jason in Friday the 13th. Not my favourite Batman villan for sure. I can't wait for the sequels when we see Joker and the other criminals released from gotham Prison.

As for Batman, well I must agree with all the critics I have read so far, Bale is the best in costume of all 5 movies. His voice is a little Keaton inspired, which I loved, and the mask just looks meaner. Or is it the lighting? Regardless, I just LOVED all the scenes when he is fighting the bad guys. When I saw the previews, I was not too thriled about the Batmobile and how the costume is made, especially compared to the cars in the first 4 films, but after seeing the film I can't imagine it any other way. It makes perfect sense and realistic at how Batman would come to life if he existed in the real world. I gotta get one of those toy Batmobiles :D Seeing it in action is just too cool.

Is this worth the admission? I would say yes, even if i found the first 30 minutes boring. It really is great to see Batman back in action. Let's just hope they DON'T hire Hale Berry for Catwoman in the sequels :D
