So here it was 5:45 pm and we all left work to go see if all the hard work we did last year payed off. It's always cool to see FX that you have done on the big screen. I guess it feels like a singer on stage in front of a croud of fans, but not as glamourous :) After the director's wife made her speach (director was filming in Germany) the lights went down....

The opening of the film took us 3 months to do. A lot of changes in the edit. Many timewarp speed changes, wire removals and in screen transitions. On the big screen with LOUD music and sound effects it actually looks cool :P
The first thing you will notice is, apart from Bridgette Wilson (Sonya in Mortal kombat), you won't recognise any of these actors. In a sense it's good because they got kids who actually do Xtreme Snowboarding and Skiing. Which brings us to the main attraction of the movie: Xtreme stunts like snowboarding behind a speeding train, skiing down 90' cliffs etc...

The main plot is about terrorists who try to kill our young actors who are filming a TV commercial in the alps. Not the most original concept out there :P But if you love to see cool Snowboarding and skiing stunts, the film has some cool footage.

However storywise, I must say that at some parts it really dragged until the action picked up and then all of a sudden the movie ends without really having a climactic peak to satisfy the cinema experience. It just seems that the script should have had more rewrites before going to shoot.

Of course all the FX are amazing - LOL. Seriously I was pleased to see that they worked very well on the big screen. If you are curious to know which scenes I worked on if you decide to see the film...The opening TV shot, Kayak throwing camera at screen, Helicopter crash, Avalanche Explosion, Avalanche End chase.

So was it worth $13. hmmm, unless you are a crazy snowboard, skiing winter sports fan, I would have to say wait a few months for the DVD. I think it will be popular with it's target audience of 15-20 year olds but anyone over 30 might want his money back ;p

What Did You Think ?

Big Screen must see

I liked it too

Wait for the DVD
