| I got a call from Jose in the
morning, I thought my new Insurections figures had arrived
at Legends. Instead he asked me if I was doing anything at
7:00 pm. Lucky for me I had no plans because they had a remaining
ticket for the montreal Premiere of Two Towers AND it's FREE.
How can you say NO to that? :D
This film starts with a bang and delivers on the same quality
effects and story that Fellowship of the Ring did. It runs
for 2 hours and 55 minutes, and I only had to go to the washroom
once :) I can say though that the story is so well constructed,
it doesn't FEEL like 3 hours. I imagine there will be some
extra 30 minutes more when the DVD comes out next fall.
OK, I'm sure you are dying to find out what Gollum was like.
Does he look 3D? Is it fake? Is he a distant cousin of jar
jar? The anwers are YES, No and You'll have to ask Mr. and
Mrs Gollum - LOL. You do realise that he is 3D because of
the face structure, his isn't proportioned like Frodo or Sam,
but he looks amazing. The animation of the character is superb.
So much so that 95% of the scenes you forget you are watching
a computer animation. As for the look, you will have to go
see for yourself. But I am sure that in a couple of days,
weeks his pictures will be in ALL the magazines. Gollum also
has one of THE funniest lines in the film when he insults
Sam.
The effects are tremendous. The war battle at the film's
end is beyond description. You HAVE to SEE it to believe it.
it's hard to believe that it's all 3D soldiers. And the Giant
ENT Trees...so cool and made me laugh when they would say
their soundbites from the ENT Toy. I actually think the Bursting
Dam scene is my favourite in the movie. I'd pay again just
to see that.
I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to see it 2 days
early, and for free, and NOT have to wait in what will probably
be insane 4 hour queues. Thanks Jose and Steve :D But I can
tell you, I would and will PAY again and WAIT again to see
possibly THE BEST film of the year. I know many of you will
be seeing it Opening day and you should. It's just SOOO good.
I bet we will see more Academy Awards for this film.
So if you loved Fellowship of the Rings, this is a NO Brainer
:) Oh One thing I forgot to mention, The violence in the movie
is pretty intense. I don't think a young child would come
out of it without Nightmares, not to mention needing 3 hour
attention span :)
