| The days of line ups going around
the block are back :)
I arrived at 10:45 for the Noon show and already, 150 / 200
people were in front of me. Lucky for us we had bought our
tickets on the internet the night before. All I had to do
was wait for the doors to open and go pick up the tickets
at the automatic teller machine.
I rewatched the first movie the day before just to get refreshed.
I can tell you that it didn't help me any to understand the
plot of this 2nd movie - LOL. At the end, when Neo enters
what I think is the Hard Drive (hmm...just like in TRON :)
the Master Computer gives a 10 minutes speach describing what
Neo must do to save the world. Well my friend and I have NO
clue what that dude was talking about. Maybe one of you can
explain it to me ;p
I don't have to tell you that the FX were really amazing.
I love those slow motion moves. I must admit though that I
am not a fan of Kung Fu type movies. When the fights were
simply 10 minutes of "rehearsed" arm and foot blocking,
I got bored FAST. I would only get interested again when an
FX would pop up. I'm sure if you like the Martial Arts genre
you won't be as bored as I was.
Speaking of bored...What is up with the RAVE at Zion? I think
the writers have watched Basic Instinct too many times. What
seems like 15 minutes of dancing rubbing bodies and see through
shirts does NOT seem to fit in this movie. It doesn't bring
us deeper into characters and doesn't serve any purpose really.
I guess they wanted to plug the soundtrack :P
One funny scene involved the Evil Program who guards the
Key Maker. You see, he speaks like Pepe Le Pue - the skunk
in Bugs Bunny. It was hard to keep a straight face his french
accent is so fake. The audience did laugh, as I, when he started
swearing in french though. You see, living in Quebec, everyone
speaks french. Even though the movie was in English, the entire
audience understood what he was saying and yes...those are
all REAL nasty curse words - LOL.
In the end, I left the cinema with a ho-hum feeling. Certainly
NOT as excited as after seeing X-Men 2. That movie for me
is WAY better. But if you are a fan of the Matrix, you will
probably enjoy this movie a lot.
Oh one more thing...STAY TILL THE VERY
END OF THE CREDITS...there is a 3 minute trailer for
Matrix 3. Only 10 people were still in the cinema when it
played. I don't think people knew about it and took off.
