| When I first heard about this
film I was SOOO excited. I loved the previous directors work,
the subject matter is just too cool and the trailer had me
on the edge of my seat. Oh how much I wanted to LOVE this
movie. So what happened?
For one of the few times in my adult life I avoided all spoilers
to this film. If I saw a clip on Access Hollywood I would
fast forward, If I saw a review on Aint It Cool News, I forced
myself not to read it. I wanted to be totally surprised. Maybe
that's where the problem lies, I was expecting the Close Encounters
of 2002. Well, Steven Spielberg has nothing to worry about
;p
There were some really good tense parts, especially when
Mel Gibson is on the floor trying to look under the door jam.
No no no, Are you stupid? LOL. Or when they are in the room
and hear footsteps on the porch. But when it was all over,
I just was SO dissapointed. What happened to the Aliens? Why
did they leave so quickly? and the "surprise" ending.
PLEASE. this was a REAL stretcher compared to Sixth Sense
or Unbreakable. Without giving anything away, I just thought
it was really stupid.
We're my expectations too high? Is that why I hated this
film? OK, hate is a strong word, how about....Blah ;p The
next day at work when chatting in the kitchen with our cups
of cofee, I found out 5 other people saw the movie. 4 of them
thought like me...Blah and poopy. 1 loved it. Looking at the
internet chats, seems many of you did enjoy it a lot. So is
it a matter of taste or expectations going in? I'd like to
hear from you why you liked it and if anyone else agrees with
me that this was a dud. :)
For $13.50 - Yes the price of a movie ticket in montreal
:( This was certainly NOT worth it for me. At least I will
be saving money when the DVD comes out because I won't be
adding this film to my collection.
