| I am not a Spidey Comic Book
Maniac. i used to watch the cartoon version at lunchtime growing
up. But hardly remember much except for some villans like
Octopus, Rhino and some Electro dude. I knew nothing about
the script for this movie either which was nice because I
could go in spoiler free (something I won't do with Star Wars
on Wednesday ;p)
I really enjoyed what Sam Raimi did with this movie. It was
well acted and I loved the choice of actors for the leads.
It was funny to see J.J.Jameson. My friend and I turned to
each other and said "Is that Schillinger from OZ?"
The special Effects were awesome. And those that I thought
looked like pre-production tests in the trailers worked really
well in the context of the picture. I found the daytime FX
much more believable and the only thing that I really did
not like was the Green Goblin suit. Probably no surprise to
you as most people hate it. I wish they would have stayed
with a torn flowing cape insteaed of a rejected Hasbro batsuit.
I know CGI cloth is hell to animate so that is probably why
they choose the green rubber plastic looking PooPoo design.
All in all I thought it was worth the money. I will end up
adding this to my collection of DVD's when it comes out for
Christmas though I will admit, I think I enjoyed X-Men a lot
more then Spidey. Still a very enjoyable film but I think
Star Wars Attack Of The Clones doesn't have to worry about
being number 2 at the box Office Champ this summer :)
