| Finally - 3 weeks after the opening,
I found a hole in my insane Exorcist 4 schedule to go see
one of the highest grossing movies so far this summer. Thank
god for computer malfunctions LOL.
I met my firend Lucie at the cinema and were surprised at
the half empty seats. I remember the fun of going to movies
in the 70's and 80's when you didnt have multiplexes, thus
lineups around the block excisted for months at the big blockbusters
and the energy in the room was awesome. You can't get that
anymore unless you go opening night these days. :(
I had heard many things about the movie.... better then the
first, the best super hero movie since X-Men 2, has a better
story then most dramatic films of late. Could it all be true
or hype me up to a point of not liking Spidey 2. Usually this
is the case but Spidey 2 delivers 100%.
Opening scenes with the pizza box, very cool and funny. A
great way to bring back the action we loved in the first.
Seeing Spiderman swing between the buildings is soo cool.
When the guy on the balcony goes to eat the slice that fell
out of the box and gets it zapped away with the web, very
funny. However, I found that many of the shots didn't seem
as photo realistic as the first film. Many seemed video game
like, for example, Dr. Octo climbing the wall with Aunt May.
I assume it's a case of more shots then in the first but with
half the time to deliver. I will have to re-watch the first
to compare. But being a super hero movie, it still is awesome
to see. And Doctor Octopus is MUCH MUCH better then that awfull
Green Goblin Power Ranger from the first film. YUK !!! I HATED
that costume design and god forbid we might be seeing it again
in Spiderman 3 :( Nooooooooo - LOL.
I will also agree with most critics who say that if you would
remove all the swinging and action scenes, you would have
a great acted drama. Very true. It's a great cast and the
character moments are interesting and well written. I was
very surprised at the story quality of the film. If you enjoyed
the first film, I can't see how you would not have a great
time watching this one. I can't wait for the DVD :)
