| Like the Hulk, I had little desire
to see this film. Perhaps even more so since I was VERY upset
that Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong and James Cameron had
all said "Hasta La Vista, Baybee" and yet the studio
decided to continue with replacements. The trailers didn't
help my desire to see the film either, it seemed like the
exact SAME story as T2 but with a Liquid Girl instead of Liquid
Guy (Robert Patrick). Woo hoo, how original. Let me be first
in line ;P
Well let me tell you...I was SOOOOOO Wrong.
This movie ROCKS ! Could even become my FAVE of the summer...
topping the Excellent X-Men 2. Did I tell you this movie ROCKS
yet? Hee hee. If you didn't go see this movie yet, Turn off
your computer, Grab a friend and GO NOW - I will wait here
- LOL. Are you back? Good...I told you it ROCKED no? :D
Sure it would have been nice to see Furlong play John Connor,
but Nick Stahl did a pretty good job and after 10-15 minutes,
you soon stop comparing the 2. If they use Nick in Terminator
4, it will matter even less because of the way T3 ends...
it CRIES, no BEGS for a sequel that, if watched back to back,
would be like watching ONE 4 hour film. Much like the LOTR
or Matrix storytelling, sequels continuing the story, not
just for the cash. I am actually surprised that they didn't
film T3 and T4 at the same time. Seems like the best way for
Hollywood to save money on Mega Budget films like this one
these days. I can tell you that if they Don't make a T4, I
will be pretty angry. LOL. I really WANT to see that movie.
It will be amazing!!!! I can imagine all the visuals and story
telling right now in my head as you will be too once you see
T3 and understand what I'm talking about.
If you don't want to see the film and understand my comments,
highlight this chapter to read the spoilers of T3's end...You
see, the machines DO take over, it was unavoidable. John and
Kate (his future wife) find themselves in a Nuke Bunker at
the end of the movie as all hell breaks loose and the earth
is destroyed by the Nuclear attacks. They know what's hapening
above and that they now must lead the fight of the Humans
against the machines...Thus the theme for T4...The continuation
from the last scene of T3 to the full war. Imagine a 2 hour
version of the War scenes from T2. It will be Awesome!!!...I
Guarantee that the box office will be a KILLER and #1 this
weekend and that there is no doubt T4 will be made. Probably
for summer 2005 or 2006.
Arnold is in TOP shape in this film. He is so HUGE and 56
to boot. Kristanna Loken as The Terminatrix is also very cool.
She can do some amazing tricks that must be seen. I was happy
to learn that Claire Danes is a Brand NEW character and not
an actress that replaces Linda Hamilton. Her involvement within
the plot is excellent and smart. There are even a few Cameos
from the previous film that bring a chuckle or 2.
The FX in this movie make T2 look like Kindergarden Cop -
LOL. CGI and Digital Compositing sure make a difference in
the brutality and complexities of the stunt sequences. WOW.
Was I at the edge of my seat. My friend Frank and I kept looking
at each other with HUGE grins. For example...Highlight again
to read possible spoilers...
1) When Arnold and Terminatrix fight
each other in the bathroom and Hallways. Man that was Awesome.
Pushed through walls, windows, tossing each other around like
you would a Rag Doll accross your bedroom. I LOVED it!!!
2) When Arnold chases Terminatrix holding on to the crane.
Now THAT was a CHASE scene :) I think MUCH MUCH better then
what we saw in Matrix 2. At least in excitement. Matrix 2
was cool but LONG at many parts just doing karate moves. This
is pure BANG CRASH car chasing and crushing :P
3) The War dream sequence with the Endoskeletons and ending
Skynet Nuke destruction of the earth. Jaw dropping. I was
drooling in my seat.
And If it's one liners you want, you won't be dissapointed.
I even found myself laughing out loud at several parts. Say
goodbye to "Hasta la vista" and hello to a VERY
funny tag line involving HAND gestures :P (And no not the
one you are thinking of - hee hee). Just hearing Arnold say
simple lines like - "Get Out", "Don't do that",
"She'll be back"... it just makes you smile :)
So can you tell I LOVED this movie? I can't wait to see it
again and buy it on DVD this Christmas. If you were not sure
weather you should spend your hard earned cash or wait for
the DVD, go see it in the THEATER. There are some amazing
shots that NEED to bee seen on a GIANT screen. OK, So that's
the FX guy in me saying that :P But they do deserve to be
seen on the BIG screen. Plus it's a GREAT Bang for your Buck
even if it's only 1 hr 40 minutes. I prefer my films to be
in the 2 hours or more category. So will you trust me?...Promise
you won't regret it :D
