Death Strike ROCKS !!!
If you liked the first X-Men movie, you will LOVE X2. Notice
how I say "LOVE" and not "love" LOL. I
haven't felt SO Excited after a movie in a LONG time. I wanted
so bad to get back in line and go see this film again RIGHT
AWAY but will have to wait until Friday's opening day :) This
is 2 hours that is well worth your money.
You don't really need to have seen the first film to understand
what's hapening in the story but doing so will allow you to
catch the little references in the characters dialogues that
make you feel they are real people with a past. You will understand
why Rogue is not too happy to see Magneto again, the tension
between Logan and Scott and so on.
I've read on other sites how this film is much darker then
X1, the "Empire Strikes Back" of the X films. In
a sence, yes this is true, everything in the movie is so much
more augmented... The characters, the quality of the FX depicting
their Powers, the Awesome action sequences...man, I'm wanting
to see it again just writing about it :) The film opens with
one of the most impressive FX sequences I have seen. When
you leave the movie I promise you will RUN to the Toy Store
and buy a Nightcrawler Toy :D
I find it easy to relate with the Mutants (many people hate
the ewoks you know - LOL) and the scene where Iceman goes
home to his family to "out" himself as a Mutant
is very poignant. Let's say his parents aren't to pleased
to find out about this particular trait in his personality.
"Can't you try and NOT be like THEM" asks his mom.
"THEM?" shouts Wolverine. I see why so many high
profile actors jumped at the chance to star as X-men, a way
to introduce tollerance to kids (and adults) be it Race, religion,
sexual orientaion, in a cool entertaining way without beeing
too preachy as to negate it's message.
It's also great to see younger X1 mutants take center stage
in X2 like Pyro and Iceman. I was surprised to discover how
characters you thought were "good" are actually
the "bad"ones and vice versa. If you wanted to find
out about Wolverine's past, you will not be dissapointed.
And the ending... NO WAY !!! Let's just say (Highlight for
possible spoilers) not only the bad
guys die in X2. But I won't tell you who. You will
have to see that for yourself.Here are my fave scenes in the
film (Highlight the text as they could spoil the surprise
and fun of your first viewing. Come read them after you see
the movie :)

The assault on the Xavier School...
Bring your earplugs - LOL.
Logan's tent sleepover :D I'm sure
many of you would LOVE for this to happen to them - :P. Who
would you choose? hmmm. LOL.
Missile Jet Chase. Those Tornado FX
are so cool.
Jean Grey's Improved powers and glowing
orange eyes . Very Cool FX design.
The awesome fight scene with Wolverine
and Death Strike. She is WICKED. How they slice and dice each
other is so intense, it's crazy. Both have rejuvenation powers
wich is good considering the hundreds of times they poke each
other with their blades - LOL.
And the shocking ending which Jean
Grey sacrifices herself to save the X-Men team. I am told
by fans of the comics that there is a reason for this death
probably explained in X3. But is was a huge surprise to me.
As you can tell I kind of liked this movie - LOL.
I urge you to go stand in line NOW. This film is gonna KILL
at the Box Office and I predict a NUMBER ONE Opening for sure.
My only dissapointment is that only 4 figures are made in
the Toyline :( with 4 more in September. BAD MOVE!!!! i will
post the reviews in My Toy Collection Section. Enjoy the movie
