Filmed on a real rollercoaster in Vancouver,
the ENTIRE background had to be replaced to simulate
a higher coaster and get rid of the lighting rigs. Tedious
rotoscoping was done to seperatte the live plate for
the CG elements.
Same situation here. The rollercoaster
did not seem scary enough so only the cars were kept
from the original plate. Using roto, they were put back
on a full CG rollercoaster - cityscape backdrop
This shot is ALL CG coaster except when
the pan right comes into play, where bluescreen coaster
was filmed by moving the camera on a track. Background
elements are CG park and city.
An example of how all the shots in the
sequence were done. Actors on bluescreen with a camera
shaking their cars were place on top of full CG rollercoaster
tracks and BG.
