No Death Star is complete without Blastdoors :)

Checking out the DVD, I counted 7 layers in a Blastdoor. So you will nedd to cut out 7 identical rectangles.

This is the thickness of your Blast Door and guess what?

YES, it's exactly ONE wall unit thick :)

The Blast Door decals are too wide to fit on a 11 inch sheet so I had to split it in half. But it still prints on the same page.

Place the left side of the Door decal onto your foamcore. Be carefull, it's hard to peel off once attached.

February 13, 2005

Now place the Right Side Decal. Align ith the Edge first and then let some of it overlap all while making sure the center frames align properly

Since cornners are tricky, I had a great idea...

First do a rough cut of the inside in order to toss away the center of the foamcore rectangle.

Now get a hole puncher and place it along the curved edges of the Decal.

February 13, 2005

Make holes at each corner of the Blast door.

February 13, 2005

Now use your Xacto Pen to connect the dots and make a clean cut along the Decals edges.

February 13, 2005

You will now have a nice clean edge like this.

February 13, 2005

Once you connect all the dots, you will have a perfectly clean Front Frame.

Looking cool placed alongside the Diorama wall :) You think you are finished? HA HA HA, come on, did Han jump through such a small door :P

Time to make the Doors.

No these aren't soda crackers to eat with your morning tea :)

I cut 6 identical triangles of of the black foamcore.

Print the Blast Doors...
