Once the feet are dry, you can place them into the Conference Room. Align them up with a Control panel.

Most of you can stop here if you wish. But wait... NiubNiub wants to make a movie accurate Diorama :P Can you guess the last step that's missing?

October 31, 2004

If you said Exhaust Grids and Lights you are Dean On !!! :)

On the back of EACH Wall Unit, you will have to mark a line at 1.5cm and another at 3cm. Then measure 2cm to find the center of the Wall Unit. Then divide each side into 3 equal sections and mark 2 circles above the 2nd lines of each side.

October 31, 2004

Start by making a SLIT into the foamcore with a V Xacto PEN. Make sure that you TAKE YOUR TIME. These cuts must be clean and precise.

October 31, 2004

For each circle, you want to start with a Horizontal Slit into the Foamcore.

October 31, 2004

Then pull out the Xacto Pen and do a Verticle Slit. What you want to do is create a + shape .

October 31, 2004

Can you see the + shape inside the pencil mark? this is what we want to help us make a clean hole for our Miniature Christmas Lights.

October 31, 2004

Start with a small object, like a Fine Paintbrush. Poke it into the + shape. Now press down AND TURN back and forth at the same time.

If you PRESS DOWN TOO FAST you rish making a HUGE RIP and even worse, breaking the Wall Unit Front Top section.

October 31, 2004

Now you can take a pencil and make a WIDER hole. Remember to TURN the pencil back and forth as you press it into the hole.

October 31, 2004

Now we should have 2 holes and 5 Slits. The holes are for lights, but why the Slits you ask? Ahh...the accuracy is in the details :)

October 31, 2004

Now cut out 5 identical pieces from the same Cardboard your Chair backs were made from. You don't want too thick a vent panel.

Measure out 1.5cm X 2cm.

October 31, 2004

Now paint these a light grey color. If you can find a Grey cardboard at the store even better. I am painting these for the prototype to show you what they are for, but when I create the 100 pieces, i will go to the store to get my grey Cardboard and save a step. If you enjoy painting...be my guest :D

October 31, 2004

Now take one of the rectangles and gently insert it into the first slit. If you start at an agle, it goes in easier.

October 31, 2004

Press it SLOWLY inside until it hits the edge of the Wall Unit's Top Panel Section.

October 31, 2004

Here is the view from the FRONT. The GREEN arrow points to the vent piece that is inserted and the BLUE arrows point to the slits where the other 4 vents will poke through when inserted into place.

October 31, 2004

Repeat the same steps until all 5 Vent rectangles are in place. This should take about 2 hours. LOL , Ok, I'm joking with you :) Maybe about 3 minutes :D

Do you want to make your own Death Star Conference Room Diorama at home?
These sections are also available to help with this creation.
