July 14, 2008
Your window should now look like this. Time to do
the window Ledges. |
July 14, 2008
Cut out the 2 window ledge decals and remember those
2 shapes you did a while back ?... |
July 14, 2008
...Start by aligning the FRONT part of the decal
with the foamcore ledge. Use your Index Finger to
press it against the front removing bubbles or folds. |
July 14, 2008
Now gently fold over the decal using your Index finger.
Start in the middle and work your way to the right
side, then the left side. |
July 14, 2008
Then smooth out the Ledge decal all the way around
until it looks like this. |
July 14, 2008
Repeat the same technique for the other window ledge. |
July 14, 2008
Take the first piece and align it with the REAR edge
of the window frame (where you cut the 45 degree angle)
You should place it the SAME distance as the gap
in the sticker sheet.
DO NOT GLUE YET !!! |
July 14, 2008
Carefully align the other side in the same manner
as in Step 82, make sure it doesn't slip out of place. |
July 14, 2008
Now flip the window on its rear side and spit on
it - LOL. No no no I am just kidding.
Put a dab of Hot Glue along the INSIDE edge in order
to secure it in place.
Do the same on the other side of the window ledge. |
July 14, 2008
Now take the bottom window shelf and do the same
thing.
This time, align it towards the bottom, using the
decal detail as a guide for the correct angle.
DO NOT align it directly on the decal line but about
1cm.
Or use the height of the decal's detail
gap as your guide.
Does this sound confusing?
July 14, 2008
Here you can see the REAR view of the window ledges
and how they follow the decal details and the 45 degree
cut arrives flush with the foamcore window frame. |
July 14, 2008
Now we need to block the see through gaps behind
the window ledges.
For the TOP cut 11.5cm X 3.5cm and for the BOTTOM
cut 11.5cm X 4cm.
For now cut ONLY the BOTTOM piece.
You only need ONE to do the window but since
the diorama requires TWO windows, the other piece will serve
later.
July 14, 2008
Hot Glue the first piece to the Rear of the window
aligning with the frame edges and right below the
bottom window ledge. |
July 14, 2008
Here you can see where the piece fits when the window
is lying on its proper angle.
Don't worry for now why there is another window attached
to theother side. You will need to create a second
one but let's finish this one first. |
July 14, 2008
Repeat on the other side once you have built your
SECOND window.
Make sure the pieces are flush with the window frames. |
