This curved hallway is part of the "rear"
Death Star design. These will add depth to the left
to right main hallways.
Start with a 57.5cm X 36cm sheet of Foamcore.

On the right bottom, measure up 18cm then move 15
degrees to the left. Measure 12cm then swerve another
15 degrees.
Continue this way until you have 6X 12cm sections
which will create the curve. |

On the left bottom, measure 24cm. Now go to the Top
left and measure down 31cm. Now draw a 12.5cm line
towards the 24cm vertical line. Now simply connect
the 2 lines which should total about 5.5cm
Once the lines are drawn out, simply cut out the
shape with your Xacto knife. |

Flip the foamcore to it's upper side, with the curve
going right.
Of course you can do a left curve also. Let your
creativity take charge :D |

Apply the MacTac flooring to the Foamcore base.
TAKE YOUR TIME.
Check the MacTac guide if you aren't sure on how
to apply properly on LARGE surfaces. If it goes on
all bubbly, you will have a HARD time peeling it off
and starting over. |
February 26, 2005
After you make sure that the surface is smooth and
bubble free, flip the floor back onto its underside. |
February 26, 2005
Time to trim off the excess MacTac. Use a sharp Xacto
Pen and watch your fingers !!! :)
Go all the way around following the foamcore edges.
Don't go TOO FAST and risk cutting into the Foamcore. |
February 26, 2005
Let's start making some walls. Using Black Foamcore,
cut a piece 18cm X 15.5cm |
February 26, 2005
Apply 3 Decals to this first wall section. To be
movie accurate, you need ONE groove panel and TWO
trapeze panels.
Of course the cool thing about the Death Star, is
that you can place ANY decal that you like. It's your
choice, Movie or creativity :) |
February 26, 2005
Let's do the right wall. Cut a 23.5cm X 15.5 cm piece
of Black Foamcore. |
February 26, 2005
For movie accuracy apply TWO decals on the RIGHT
side. Leave the left side blank. This space will be
covered with a LARGE curved panel.
Of course, if you don't want to make or place a curved
panel, you can cover the left side with TWO more regular
decals. |

Flip your floor back to it's proper side. The MacTac
should be on top - duh - LOL. |
February 26, 2005
Take your left wall and secure it to the floor using
your Hot Glue Gun. Make sure to allign it flush with
the edge of the floor. DO NOT leave a gap. |
February 26, 2005
Now take the Right Wall and glue it to the floor
with your Glue Gun. As in the left wall, make sure
it is alligned flush with the floor base. |
February 26, 2005
Now cut out a 15.5cm X 12cm piece of Black Foamcore.
Cut 7 copies to be exact and Hot Glue the FIRST one
to the floor base next to the Left Wall.
No need to put glue between the pieces for now. If
you use glue only on the bottom, that will help you
get a better fit. |
