Starting with the Rear Wall Bases.
I pre-bend the paper so that it fits perfectly on
the foamcore shapes. This also helps to allign them
properly. |

Here are the 2 decals ready for the bases. |

Slowly place them on top of the Foamcore and then
smooth out and remove any air bubbles under the paper.
The White Arrows were added so you could notice
the difference the Grey Paint did. It blends better
with the Decals color then if it were white. A small
detail I know, but it does make a huge difference
in the finished look. |

Now take the 4 Center Decals and place them onto
the Foamcore.
The Green Arrows indicate where the Foamcore piece
ends and the Toilet Paper Rolls begin. The center
dark line is the joint of the 2 large Decals. The
2 smaller ones fit on each side. |

Now it's time to add the Decals to the Beam itself.
This consists of 2 "V" Foot decals, 2 Angle
pieces with the Horizontal Lines, 2 Medium Front Strips
and 2 Large Front Strips.
For the Neon Sides...You have 4 Angled Base Decals
(2 for each side), 4 Regular Neons and 4 Long Neons.
|
|
 |
The cool thing
about these Downloads is that there are Variations to the
paterns. You decide which to stick where so that all the
Beams don't look exactly the same. More dimension for your
display :D |

And this is what the Beam looks like standing up.
As you can see it's pretty BIG :) |
|
 |
 |
|

Now it's time to attach the Beam to the Wall.
Take the Rear Wall Base and allign it center with
the Beam Sides. Take a pencil and make some marks
on the INSIDE. Put some Hot Glue on the Edges of the
Beam and use your marks to position it before the
glue hardens. |
|
 |
 |
|

Make sure the Wall is Alligned with the Angle Section
of the Beam. |
|
 |
 |
|
February 16, 2003
This is what the base should look like.
The green Arrow points to the Alignment of the Toilet
paper Roll. It should arrive flush with the top of
the "Center" angle of the Beam Structure. |
|
 |
 |
|
February 16, 2003
Use your hot Glue to attach the other side as well.
Make sure that the Toilet Paper Rolls are BOTH facing
each other.
When the glue hardens and the pieces are secure,
you can attach the Center Rear Wall Section. |
|
 |
 |
February 16, 2003
This is tricky because it is so large. The Hot Glue
can have the time to cool off if you don't act quickly.
But Quickly doesn't mean so fast that you will place
it all wrong...
...The Center Rear Wall fits in perfectly between
the 2 Base Sections.
You will see that the Toilet Paper Rolls slightly
bend when pressed together closing the Gaps |

between the 3 pieces and creating a movie Accurate look.
|
 |
February 16, 2003
Once everything is secure and in place each side
should look like this.
Looks like a high heel shoe doesn't it? :D
Now comes the time to do it all over again :P |

I placed the Final Beam next to the prototype to
get an idea of what the room will look like when the
duplicates are completed. |

Here you can see the Scale of the beams and Wall
next to the NEW shuttle.
Of course this would work the same for the vintage
since they are the same ship :) |
|
 |
 |
February 16, 2003
Here is a TOP view to show you the Height of the
finished Beam in comparison with the Shuttle.
I originally was going to make it 5 neons high, but
removed the center neon. Big is cool but then there
is TOO big :) Plus at 4 Neons there is still LOTS
of room on top for the Vader Tie. |
