So when pressed together, we get a perfect curve
as the Decals now get pressed against the Toilet Paper
Rolls. |

And when seen from the front, the joint looks just
perfect with NO gaps from uneaven imperfections :)
A little more work but I think Well worth the effort. |

March 29, 2003
Another full day of Printing, Peeling and applying
Decals. Boy this part can get very boring after the
5th hour - LOL. Maybe next weekend, I should invite
my friends to help out :P At least it looks cool when
completed. You do get a big smile, but only for 2
minutes...we still have all the Rear Walls to assemble
- :D |

March 30, 2003
Time to Hot Glue all the Back Bases to the Beams.
I placed the Center Walls against the Beams, centered
them and used a pencil to trace a line against the
side.
Attaching these pieces are a little bit tricky so
having a guide track is essential to prevent the |
|
 |
Hot Glue from causing a HUGE mess.
Spread the Hot Glue along both undersides of the Beam,
flip upside down and align the Beam with the Pencil Mark.
Quickly press the Beam against the Center Rear Wall. Let
the Glue cool off.

Since my Pencil Guide worked so well for the Center
Wall, I used the same technique on the Neon Bases.
Make sure that the Wall is alligned with the Beams
Angle piece (Between the 2 Red Arrows).
|
|
 |
Once you have
it attached to one foot, turn the Beam around and do the
top end. Of course, if you aren't making a roof for your
Docking Bay, you will only have ONE foot to assemble. |
 |
|
March 30, 2003
2 Hours later, you can see the Rear Wall assemby.
The Red Arrows point to the Top and Bottom Foot
Walls. The brown cardboard that is exposed are the
Toilet paper Rolls. |

And the finished 7 Beams (8 with the completed template
from page 1).
As you can see, The Beams are almost 4 feet tall.
Not every home will have the space to house such a
display. If I was not making it for Legend's Window
Display, |
|
 |
I would have
probably cut it in half and skipped the Top Arches. Now
it's time to start the Main Wall Sections that fit between
each Beam. I think I need an aspirin - LOL. |
 |
|
April 05, 2003
OK, let's get cutting. These are the pieces for the
12 Walls. All 72 of them :) These are where the Blue
Neons will be placed. |
|
 |
 |
|
April 05, 2003
To continue the Top half of the Blue Neon bases I
cut another 72 Pieces of Foamcore. |
|
 |
 |
|
April 05, 2003
To round it all off, 72 Angle Supports were cut of
of Foamcore. Man was that ever Boring - LOL. |
|
 |
 |
April 05, 2003
Now I took all 72 Pieces of the Base and sliced off
a corner at a 45' Angle. This will allow for a Flush
joint with the Neon Base Top's |

April 05, 2003
I Hot Glued the Neon Bases and Base Tops to the Angled
Spine supports. It only took about 6 Hours to glue
them all together :D |
|
 |
 |
April 05, 2003
Time for some more cutting. I won't tell you how
many times I had to go to the bathroom to get all
these Toilet Paper Rolls - LOL.
They were cut into Quarters and then into 4cm lengths.
I then stacked them in groups of 4 ... the number
needed for ONE wall section. |
|
 |
 |
April 05, 2003
Start with the Neon bases. Use a Sharp Xacto Blade
to cut a Slit along the Top Edge. |
|
 |
 |
April 05, 2003
Slide the Paper Roll Quarter into the Groove and
Center it before flipping the Neon Base upside down... |
