...Now Blow your nose on the Foamcore. The stuff
between the red Arrows.
This works really well if you have a cold and your
nose is runny. Noooooooooo. I was just kidding :)
Use the Hot Glue to make sure the Paper Roll never
pops out from the Foamcore Groove. |

Now it's time to insert the Quarter Rolls into the
Wall center Strips.
I had to cut 36 Strips to make the 12 Beams. Remember
this is the Deluxe Way to make the Walls.
I will have Decals that will simulate Seperators
so that you only need cut ONE 12cm wide piece per
Wall.
You can find
out more on the Easy Way out once I have finished the construction
of the Deluxe Walls. |
April 05, 2003
Just like the Neon Beam Bases, Each Wall Center Strip
needs a Paper Roll Quarter inserted at each end of
the Foamcore.
Simply Use your Xacto Blade and run it along the
Top Edge on Both Sides. |

April 05, 2003
Gently Slide the Toilet paper into the Groove, flip
the piece over and use Hot Glue to keep it permanently
into place.
Now just repeat the process another 72 times - LOL. |
April 05, 2003
WOW, after almost 11 hours work, All 108 pieces have
their Toilet paper Rolls atached and ready to be assemble
into a single Wall Unit (3 strips equal One Wall). |
April 06, 2003
And here you can see...10 HOURS LATER !!!! I finished
5 Walls. I can't believe it took 2 hours of work for
each Wall Unit. To think now I still have 5 more to
make - Noooooooo - LOL. |
April 06, 2003
Here is where I am at as of Today. Well minus 2 Center
Beams.
I can't wait to finish these and get started on the
Floor. Making the little Elevator Hole will be so
much more fun :) |

April 06, 2003
If you use A LOT of Imagination, you might be able
to see what the completed Diorama will look like -
Hee hee.
The shuttle shows you the huge Scale of the Hangar
and clearly indicates plenty of room on top to hang
the Tie Bomber off the Rafters. - Woo hooo :) |
April 12, 2003
Woo hoo - ALL 3 tier Wall Panels are now assembled.
And it only took about 30 hours LOL. Now the sad part...I
have to paint them all grey - Oh nooooo :P |
April 27, 2003
Ok, here we are 3 days later (It took me 30 minutes
to paint One beam) all Foamcore surfaces have been
painted with Grey Latex paint.
Now if some Decals don't reach all the way to the
edges, it will look nice because you won't see any
white gaps.
Now since Decals
are fun to apply, I decided to skip that phase and completely
finish the Wall Assembly... |
April 27, 2003
Here is a close up of what the cut should look like.
Not Too deep, just enough for the Scrap piece to interlock
with the Support. |
April 27, 2003
So now take a Scrap piece of foamcore and alligned
it with the 2 Holes cut in the Beam/Wall Section.
I took a pencil to mark where the U cuts were and
then Cut 2 more U Shapes in the Scrap Piece. |
April 27, 2003
To make the joining of the sections a lot easier
I decided to use the criss cross brace method.
What I did was place a Wall section on a Beam section
(The Green Arrow points to where the 2 pieces meet)
and then trace a guide line with a pen on the Rear
Supports. |
I then cut off
a Small U Shape on both Sections. (Follow the red Arrows) |
April 27, 2003
If you find my explanation confusing, maybe a front
view can help a little better :)
The Green Arrows point to the joining of the Wall
Pieces. on the left a 3 Tier Wall, Then a Beam Section
(with the Blue Neons), followed by another 3 tier
Wall.
The Red Arrows
point to the U Cuts that will hold the Scrap Piece of Foamcore. |
April 27, 2003
Now here you can see how Both Pieces fit together.
The U cuts slide into each other creating a firm bond
that pulls the 2 pieces Together (in the directions
of the Red Arrows). |
