NiubNiub's Making Of Dioramas

Today I decided to start working on the "Bunk Bed" or so it looks like in the pictures :) I

got the details for this in the Behind The Magic CD since it is very hard to see in the film.

I made a box out of foamcore at the same angles as the back wall.

These pieces are the "mattress" just cut 1 cm strips and chop the sides at an angle so that it looks like a pyramid shape from the front.

Here you can see where they fit and how cool the angled sides will look in the finished piece.

I painted and Weathered the strips using acrylic latex paint.

I painted the box with the same Metalic Car Paint as the room and then Hot Glue Gunned the pieces to the box.

Make sure to leave a half cm protrusion in the front. Do not glue flush to walls surface.

On the back side, you can trim off the excess strips. you want the back flush since it will rest against the main left wall.

The finished "bunk bed" just like in the movie :)

Now it's ready for placing along the back wall.
