To make the box, as before, just cut out 1 cm strips
of foamcore |
December 16, 2001
Hot Glue the strips to the piece you cut out from
the wall. |

Use you hot Glue Gun to attach the box to the back
of the wall. Now we are ready to paint. |
December 26, 2001
I used my car spray paint to cover all exposed pieces. |
December 26, 2001
I then printed and glued my grid decals on the right
section where the "pipes" will be placed. |
December 26, 2001
Next I used the same technique as on the opposite
wall, I glued in place various wires with my Hot Glue
Gun.
Just placing them until I was happy with the general
look. |
December 26 2001
Time to poke holes in the grid section. Start with
a fine tool like a needle and then poke a pencil to
make the hole wide enough to fit the cords. |
December 26, 2001
I then took my rope and stuck it through the holes.
I used my Hot Glue Gun to secure them in place at
the base.
Once the glue had cooled off and hardened, I trimed
the ropes to about 1/2 cm from the base. |
December 26, 2001
Here we see what the ropes look like on the front
side. I again used my Hot Glue Gun to attach them
to the bottom of the wall using only a small drop
to avoid making a ugly mess. |

I knew my extra Commtech Chips would come usefull
one day :)
For details, I painted a Commtech Chip with silver
paint and secured it to the board with a drop of Hot
Glue. |
December 26, 2001
For these details I just gathered used interesting
looking odds and ends that I found lying around the
house.
The top is a protector cap from spray paint and the
bottom is a piece from an old utility knife.
Of course you can use other items, just find some
cool looking objects and glue them in place. |
December 26, 2001
On the left I just placed some fancy thumb tacks
and a plastic button.
We now have our finished wall number 3 :) |
December 26, 2001
Here we see how it completes the look of the real
movie set.
This angle is when we see luke training with the
seeker.
Making this wall removable will allow us to view
wall number 4 where han sits at his console. |
December 26, 2001
So back to wall number 4.
I used my car spray paint to cover all exposed areas
and this works great as a base coat for the straws
that I will paint over in the next step. |
December 26, 2001
Looking at the movie pictures you can see that the
center pipe is blue. So that was the first thing to
do.
I also painted the other straws silver to lighten
them up a little and make a contrast from the wall
color.
Then I printed
my Photoshop Decals and glued them in their respective slots
with a gluestick. |
