You should now have these 3 pieces. The one you want
to keep is the center piece.
That looks like a big letter C.
We don't need either of the 2 other pieces. Keep
the "C" in a safe place for later. |

Remember those stair lines you drew with the angle
ruler? This is the left side "scrap" I told
you not to throw away :)
This will be our guide to make the main stairs.
Take this piece and trace 4 copies and carefully cut
them out.
DO NOT cut your orinal just yet. |

You should now have 4 copies of the stair base. Put
these aside for now. |
|
 |
 |
|
June 24, 2002
Take your original and cut along one of the lines.
Put aside the smaller piece.
You now have a double stair template. Use it to draw
4 copies and carefully cut them out. |

We now have 4 copies of double stairs. Are you getting
excited yet? LOL |
|
 |
 |
|
June 24, 2002
Take the original and cut along the last line giving
you 2 single stairs.
Use one piece as a guide and trace another 6 pieces.
You need single stairs. |
|

Great, we now have 4 triple big stairs, 4 double
stairs and 8 single stairs.
Seperate the pieces in 2 equal piles. One for the
left staircase and the other for the right. |
|
 |
 |
|
June 24, 2002
Using our friend the Hot Glue Gun :) Stick all the
pieces together.
Start by attaching 2 triple stairs together, then
2 doubles. Align the double with the triple and glue
those together. Now attach 2 singles together and
align them with the triple and doubles and glue them
into a 6 layer staircase.
|
|
 |
Are you confused
yet? Heh heh. Take the last 2 singles and glue them together
but NOT to the staircase.
Repeat the process for the opposite side but remember
to MIRROR the staircase. If you alligned the stairs with
the rear of the tripple stairs, align with the front for
the second set. If you are confused about this, go forward
to page 4, Picture 057 to see the stairs positions in the
diorama. You will better understand what I mean by Mirror. |

Now for some side walls and support. Let's switch
to cm's because they fit more to a foamcores thickness.
Cut 2 pieces 34.5 cm X 3.5 cm. |

June 24, 2002
Using the scoring technique, we want to curve the
foamcore to fit around the upper level floor.
Remember to not push too hard on your Xacto blade.
You don't want to cut through, just the top layer. |

Carefully bend each joint so that you will get a
nice flexible piece.
My friend told me these look like priest collars
- LOL. I don't think I will be needing them for that
purpose anytime soon :P |

Get your floor base piece you first cut. |
|
 |
 |
June 24, 2002
Place the upper level on top of the floor piece,
align them and trace the shapes with a pencil.
This will help us know where to align and glue the
top level to the bottom floor. |
|
 |
 |
June 24, 2002
I took my flexible strip and hot glued it to the
upper level.
You can't see from this angle, but the piece is
attached on top of the foamcore and not against the
side. |

Remember those 2 single stairs you made earlier?
These are our support brackets.
Align them with the edge of the top level foamcore
and glue in place. |
