In the same technique as above, take your second spine and attach it along the other window edge.

Make sure it is flush with the cut. Take your time, Do not glue it all in one shot, it's too large and you will end up with a mess. Not to mention the possibility of tearing your window in half.

June 30, 2002

Now for the curved corners. Cut 2 identicle pieces, 2.25 inches X 5.5 inches.

June 30, 2002

We want them to bend so it's time again to slit one side. This time at every 1/4 inch.

You want more cuts to make a smoother bend.

June 30, 2002

This is where our pieces fit. "But Niubniub, it looks gross" you say? LOL We must alter the ends so that they appear flus with the top and bottom ledges.

June 30, 2002

Take a NEW blade and cut through the foamcore at an agle like in the picture. Do this on both ends.

You want to shave as close to the top side's paper.

June 30, 2002

Now use your Hot Glue Gun to attach the piece to the window ledge.

Make sure to test your piece before permanentaly bonding with the glue. You want to make sure it is flush and smooth.

Shave off some more foam if it doesn't give you a clean seam.

June 30, 2002

Now that the window is finished, it's time to make the 2 front wall sections.

Take your 19.25 inch pieces and cut one side at 1 cm intervals to alow it to bend.

DON'T cut all the way through.

June 30, 2002

We now have a flexible foamcore ready for it's spinal surgery :)

June 30, 2002

Take your spine piece and Hot Glue it to the top of the wall.

Make sure it's flush so it will look nicer.

June 30, 2002

Now we can put the pieces in place. Ahh, it actually almost looks like a room - LOL.

I was going to Hot Glue all the pieces to the main base but decided that it will be easier to take pictures if I can remove wall sections like they do in real movie sets.

Don't worry about the gaps between the 3 pieces, there are support columns that will be strategically placed to make the wall seamless :)

July 13, 2002

Let's make some support beams.

I started with a rectangle piece 19 cm long. I measured 2.5 cm from the top and another 2.5 cm after that. Then I made a line at 1cm from the left side.

July 13, 2002

Time to make another template. This time a 5.5 cm circle

July 13, 2002

Place the circle along the 2.5 cm line and the 1 cm line on the left.

July 13, 2002

This is the shape of our beams.

July 13, 2002

Now use the Xacto blade to cut our piece.

Discard the 1cm piece at the bottom.

Now we use this shape to trace 16 pieces. Once cut, Hot Glue 2 pieces together to give us 8 beams.
