Time to make the thicknesses to the walls.

Cut a 48 cm X 2 cm piece and two 17 cm X 2 cm.

July 13, 2002

Attach these with Hot Glue to the top of the first shape we cut.

Place along the surface of the foamcore and NOT the insides (exposed styrofoam)

July 13, 2002

Take our cut piece number 2 and attach it to the inside of the strips you glued in the step above.

July 13, 2002

once the glue has cooled down, flip your piece to the front side and take your quarter round poster tubes.

Use dabs of glue to attach these to each edge of the foamcore as seen in the illustration.

July 13, 2002

Here you can see what the front looks like so far when both poster tubes are in place.

July 13, 2002

Cut a new piece of foamcore 62 cm X 21 cm.

We need to make cuts to fold the foamcore around the arches but only at the corners. No need to cut the entire length.

From left measure 9 cm and start cutting till you reach 20 cm. as seen by the black lines between the arrows.

Do the same for the other side. but measure from the right - duh LOL.

July 13, 2002

Take the 3rd piece from the initial cut and Hot Glue it along the inside of the foamcore wall you just cut.

Try not to get extra glue smudges along the inside edges.

July 13, 2002

Congratulations, you made a breadbox :) LOL.

This is what your piece looks like right side up.

July 13, 2002

Now flip it on it's back and attach it to the first 2 pieces you assembled.

Take your time and glue the ends first then the center and apply glue to the curves sections last to make sure they are flush with the front wall.

July 13, 2002

Here is a wider angle of what it should look like.

July 13, 2002

We need a floor.

Cut 21 cm X 43 cm and align it with the bottom of the room. Use your Hot Glue to secure it in place.

July 13, 2002

We now have the Entrance alcove completed. Not too hard was it?

July 13, 2002

And to give you a better idea of the scale I placed some guards in their apporpriate resting place.

July 13, 2002

Doesn't this look cool so far? The only thing that's is freaking me out is where I will put this diorama once completed - LOL.

July 13, 2002

And a view from the top. You can better see the stairs in this one.

Do you want to make your own Palpatine's Office Diorama at home?
