Once the tile is cut, repeat on the other end and
Attach all ends together with your Hot Glue gun.
Don't worry if you don't get the correct angle on
the first try. It took me 3 pieces to get it just
snug. |

No this is NOT a TOILET BOWL - hee hee - it is the
underside of the roof. Time for details. |

These are the pieces we will need. I cut out the
center from one of the tile patterns. On top is 4
cm and at the bottom measures 7 cm.
I also needed to cut out 2 strips of foamcore...1
cm X 14 cm. |

The 2 strips fit on top of the smaller tile piece.
Leave a small gap on each end. |

Start cutting :)
We need 14 small tiles and 34 of the strips. We also
need 4 pieces 14 cm X 5 cm for the bottom straight
side. |

First I glued the cut tile to the circular tiles
(Layer 2 roof) This piece fits over the joint of the
big tiles to hide the cracks as well as make it look
like the film set.
If the piece sticks out, that is good, it will assure
you a flush cut when trimmed. |

Use a sharp Xacto blade and trim the Small Tile.
Then hot Glue the 2 strips in place. |

July 28, 2002
Use a sharp Xacto Blade to trim the excess strips.
Doing it in 3 steps assures a neater appearence.
Since the ends will be visible in the finished Diorama,
we don't want torn edges. |

Here is a great angle to show you how the pieces
lean against the inside edge of the Layer 2 Tiles.
You can also see how clean and flush the front ends
meet. Now get cracking on the other 13 :) |

July 28, 2002
First step again... Hot glue all the Small Tiles
to the layer 2 tiles.
Make sure to align the center of the Small tiles
with the cracks of the layer 2 ring.
If you look at the bottom, you see the 4 rectangle
tiles in place (14 cm X 5 cm) |

Then trim all the excess pieces once the glue has
hardened. |
|
 |
 |
July 28, 2002
Hot glue all the strips in place, remember to leave
a small edge on each side. |

Again, Trim off the excess with a Sharp Xacto, be
carefull, you don't want to chop off your fingers
in the process :) |

So this is what it looks like so far. The details
are a lot of work but really add to the look don't
you think?
Now we need to add the double thickness that is on
the top end of Layer 2. |

Cut angled pieces using whatever scrap pieces you
have left.
They do not have to be the exact angle of the ceiling.
We will be trimming them like the details. |
