Poor Yoda forgot to get out of the way from Dooku's
Energy Bolts :D I know, I know, my humour is awful
- LOL.
I actually chopped up a Levitating Yoda with my
Xacto blade.
Be VERY carefull when cutting through a figure. |
It takes a
lot of pressure and you DON'T want your FINGER to be in
the way. So chop him at the waist, his Right Arm and cut
the cape at the Hood. Oh and cut off Yoda's Right foot along
the edge of the skirt. |
December 08, 2002
Let's start by making a blob of Super Sculpy and
sticking Yoda's foot under one corner. This is his
exposed foot.
Use your tools to continue his little toes and make
it look like a complete foot.
Now press Yoda
into the blob until his arm reaches the Armrest. Now take
your Hairdryer and heat the Super Sculpy until it hardens. |
December 08, 2002
Use your roller and flatten some Super Sculpey so
that you can cut little 1cm X 5cm strips. |
December 08, 2002
Take one strip and wrap it around Yoda's Left Shoulder
like if it was a scarf. |
December 08, 2002
Take another strip and do the same on the other shoulder.
This is the start of his Jedi Robe. |
December 08, 2002
Now use your Sculpy Tools to create folds and blend
the pieces together as well as Yoda's body.
Make sure the Right piece flops over Yoda's foot.
If you need more folds, just add a tiny strip to cover
holes.
Once you are happy with your shape, it's time again
to harden the Super Sculpy. |
December 08, 2002
Using my Hot Glue gun, I attached Yoda's Right arm
to the body resting his hand on the Robe.
You can't see it from this angloe but the arm connection
is not flush, there is a big hole that will be filled
with Super Sculpey later on. |
December 08, 2002
Now take a strip and place over Yoda's arm.
Now all you need to do is blend in some folds like
you can see I did on his Left Arm. |
December 08, 2002
Here you can see how the Right sleeve has now been
blended with the rest of the Robe and smoothed into
the shoulders.
If you are happy, get your hair dryer out and harden
the Sculpy for about 1-2 minutes. |
December 08, 2002
Use some Sculpy to fill in any holes or cracks you
might have on Yoda's back.
Harden those with your hair dryer and then get out
your little hood piece you cut out earlier. |
December 08, 2002
Place the hood around Yoda's neck and you just saved
yourself about 20 minutes of sculpting time :) |
December 08, 2002
I know what you are thinking...The hood look awful
and not even the same color :)
Well get out your Acrylic Latex paints and have fun.
Oh and something I learned today... NEVER paint a
figure while holding it over your paint bowl.
My fingers slipped
and Yoda fell right into the container of white paint...
You should have heard me scream. LOL. |
December 08, 2002
I decided to NOT use the colors Hasbro had for the
original figure since in the movie his Robe is Greyish
White - NOT Yellow.
Make sure to paint his little foot green and since
my Yoda had an unfortunate accident :)
I had too repaint
his entire head. Which it turns out actually looks better
then the original paint job. |
December 08, 2002
Here you can see what the Sitting Yoda looks like
next to his former self. A pretty big difference don't
you think?
It hardly even looks like the same figure. I think
it's cause his skinn is too much of a Dark green.
I think that's
why I never really liked this Yoda. Until now of course
:D |

And finally, Yoda sitting in his chair in palpatines
Office.
Looks pretty cool :)
In all, this custom took about 5-6 hours to complete.
If ever one day hasbro makes a similar sitting Yoda,
I'll have to give this one away :) |
