Today I finished the detailed skin texture on the rest of the body. This step was so time consuming... a whopping 3 days - but I think worth the while judging the result .

Final Step is painting and weathering. If my airbrush compressor was not broken the result would have been 500% better but using a brush and latex paint didn't turn out tooo bad.

Now after all that time on the detailing of the body, I thought the tentacles would be a piece of cake. Ha was I wrong! As soon as I would finish and cure it (to make it hard) it would break in two or three or four in my hand - ARGHHHH!!!!. I had to redmake 7 tentacles. I'm begining to think that just looking at them will make them break - LOL.

Finally after 6 weeks my Sarlaac Pit is Complete - YEAH!!!!
I decided to place the original sketch above for you to see how close the result turned out. Not bad eh? and not a minute too soon either - This has been the diorama that has taken me the longest time to make and the most detailed for accuracy. I'm glad my friend Frank gave me the idea to create Jabba's Sail Barge to place in the background.

I think it helped make a cool diorama into an AWESOME one. Let me know what you guys and girls think. was it 6 weeks well spent? :)

Do you want to make your own Sarlaac Pit Diorama at home?
