Now take the decals for the seperators spine and
cut them with an exacto or scissors. |

Carefully apply them to the foamcore edges. The width
of the printouts fit perfectly on the side of a foamcore.
If a little white shows through, that's ok, we'll
fix that later with a colored marker. |

April 13, 2001
This is what our seperator shapes will look like
when all holes and decals have been applied. |
April 13, 2001
Now for the Supports, cut a 2 cm strip of foamcore.
This will be your center piece that will give the
illusion of thickness for the seperators. |
April 13, 2001
Since we must bend the foamcore into a circular shape,
we must do the groove technique. Cut the foamcore
WITHOUT going through to the other side at 1/4 inch
intervals. Continue this to the end of the strip. |
April 13, 2001
Gently bend apart each cut to seperate the foamcore
and allow it to curve. Use BOTH hands, I had to use
1 to take the pictures :) |

April 13, 2001
TADA - We now have a strip of foamcore that can bend
in a circle. |
April 13, 2001
NO, This is NOT a priest collar - LOL. Use a hot
glue gun to attach the strip to the back of one of
the dividers. TAKE YOUR TIME. You want the inside
of the shape to be as flush - close to the edge -
as possible. This is so that when we apply the decals
it will be a smooth fit. I held the strip to the divider
and then glued a 3-4 inch area on the outside,
NOT UNDERNEATH. Once that was dry, I held the curve
a little further and glued the next 3-4 inch area.
So on until the end of the circle. I hope you understand
what I mean. |
April 13, 2001
Take another divider (Print the decal from the download
section, apply it to foamcore sheet and cut along
the edges. Easier to cut AFTER the decal is applied,
just as you did for the divisions) and hot glue gun
it to the collar strip. This is easier then the first
divider as the collar is already in the proper circular
shape allignment. |
April 13, 2001
Trim off the excess from the collar strip. Use a
sharp blade to avoid crushing the foamcore. |
April 13, 2001
Next Print the Devider strips from the download section
and cut them along the edges. |
April 13, 2001
Go slow... This is what happens if you try and apply
the decal too fast - LOL. You get a BIG MESS. The
paper will curl and glue itself and you will have
to throw it away and start again. |
April 13, 2001
This is harder then it looks. You have to take your
time and be carefull to not create creases or air
bubbles all in keeping the decal in the center of
the circle's inside. Fold the end of the decal inside
the bottom foot of the division. |
April 13, 2001
The decal doesn't reach completely to the other side.
you have to apply a second decal. try to match them
as best you can. As you can see, there is a bit of
color difference, but since that is under the top
of the devision, it will hardly be visible. |
April 13, 2001
Now we must attach the seperators to the division.
Use the hot glue gun and apply on the 4 areas pointed
to with the arrows. Then carefully slide it into place
and hold till dry. If your glue spills over that doesn't
matter because it will be hidden with our wire. |
