These are
the Magazines I have collected over the years, going way back
to 1977.
Many contain behind the scenes and set pictures, and are a cheap
way to get cool reference pictures.
A must have if you want accuracy in details.

STAR WARS
INSIDER
I bet most of you are subscribed to this already :) I have been
a subscriber since issue #1 when it was called Lucasfilm Fan
Club. If you don't have books, or can afford only 1 magazine,
this is your best bet. Pleanty of making of pics and cool interviews
too. A good source to help you plan the layout and to add details
in your dioramas.

CINEFEX
Primarily a magazine geared for the fx professionals, there is
no reason you should not pick up this amazing magazine. Especially
if you love behind the scenes, making of articles from all your
fave big hit blockbuster movies. Hands down the most comprehensive
making of magazine out there. A lot of behind the scenes pictures.

OFFICIAL
EPISODE 1
This was the Official Episode 1 Souvenir Magazine. It has a lot
of behind the scene pictures as well as a lot of movie stills.
I use this a lot for references to tiny details in the movies
sets. I bought it at a magazine store at the films opening.

1980 OFFICIAL

A little frail :) I grabbed this Official Collectors magazine
off the shelf after seeing the movie in 1980. You might find

and quite a few making of set photos.

CINEFANTASTIQUE
I don't know if Cinefantastique is still on sale but in it's
prime it was one of the best resources for sci-fi material. You
probably can order copies of the thicker Star Wars issues. A
lot of good movie still references in here.
XX
STARLOG
I remember my friend running up the street to see me holding
his copy with Star Wars on the cover and telling me how this
was gonna be the best movie ever. "Yeah Right" I said...boy
was I wrong - LOL. Starlog was THE sci-fi magazine of the 70's
and 80's. It still onsale today.

CINESCAPE
A newcomer on the block, Cinescape magazine offers a look inside
sci-fi adventure movies and tv shows. I buy the issues with Star
Wars and use their picture stills as good detail resource material.

TRADING CARDS
If you want clear crisp freeze frames of the coolest scenes from
the Star Wars movies, you can look no further then Collector
trading Cards. These cards inspired me in how to take pictures
of my dioramas, and are used as guides for the scenes yet to
be made. Great reference material!.
